The first thing that struck me about Deathnote was the fact that the main character is in fact the bad guy - sorry for all those who didn't realise this, but it becomes pretty apparent early on in the story.
What I really liked about this comic, was the fact that it reminds me of the modern Japanese horror movie formula. With the whole dective thing, reminds me of films such as 'Heat' or 'Infernal Affairs' where the cop and the criminal play a dance where each try to predict the others movements. A very good read.
